About

Hello, web travelers! My name is Marie de Ville (born and raised in Belgium 🫶) and I’m a designer.

The term “designer” isn’t always easy to define these days, but my past experiences and projects will give you a better sense of who I am. To sum it up: I’m a designer who fell under the spell of tech. I started my career as a UX/UI designer, being passionate about interface design and user experience especially on mobile devices.

But the story doesn’t end here… The more time passed, the more I found my true path. Always on the lookout for new ideas and ways to improve processes, I became obsessed with Design Systems and ecosystem strategies. That’s why (and how) over the past two years, I’ve been leading and working on projects like these as a Design System Lead, collaborating with dedicated design teams as well as development and accessibility teams.

Along the way

Below you’ll find a summary of the most relevant information about my experience, education, and the competences I’ve acquired, along with a link to download my CV and my contact details if you’d like to learn more about my background and the projects I’ve been involved in.

Experience

Tapptic

Design Systems Lead

March 2023 - August 2025

After discovering the power of Design Systems, especially design tokens and automation, there was no going back to a regular way of working. Leading the topic, I started a phase of research, development, and evangelization in addition to other projects. I mainly focused on “technical design” (industrialization and optimization), testing models and tools.

Communication with different teams, mainly developers and solution architects, became a key part of my mission, both internally and on the client side. I also had many opportunities to act as a referent: collecting client needs, conducting audits, advising teams, and always keeping collaboration and optimization as my main concerns.

UX/UI Designer

January 2021 - March 2023

Following a successful internship, I began my career as a UX/UI designer. During that time, I had the chance to work on a variety of web and mobile projects across different sectors like banking, transportation, sports, luxury, retail, telecommunications, culture, and energy with many talented people. It was also during this period that I discovered the power of design systems and design tokens, which became a main focus and passion. In addition, I continued designing, creating wireframes, conducting audits, and contributing to analytical missions.

UX/UI Designer Intern

September 2020 - December 2020

During this 3-month internship, I worked closely with both the UI and UX team. I had the opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities, including interface design, audits, benchmarks, wireframes, information architecture, customer journeys, and branding.

Publicis Groupe

CX/UX Designer Intern

February 2020 - April 2020

For this 3-month internship, I worked mainly with the strategy and marketing teams. My main tasks included audits, surveys, benchmarks, personas, and wireframes for digital experiences.

iGLOO

UX/UI Designer Intern

April 2019 - May 2019

It was during this internship that I discovered “Sketch” and the power of components. As a beginner, it was amazing to see what we could do and how much time it could save. I worked on web wireframes and designs, as well as on a web app.

Education

CAD

Master’s degree - UX&Motion Design

September 2018 - December 2020

During the master, we focused on interfaces, the way they are conceived and designed. Motion design, with storytelling and communication, was another key focus.

Bachelor’s degree - Advertising & Digital Design

Augustus 2015 - June 2018

During the bachelor, we explored all kinds of graphic culture and design, including digital art, art direction, Creative Suite, brand identity, storytelling, concept development, UX/UI, packaging, and multidisciplinary workshops

Emily Griffith

English as a second language

September 2014 - June 2015

After I graduated from high school, I took a gap year in Colorado, where I attended English classes.

Competences

Over the past ten years, through both study and work experience, I’ve had the opportunity to explore many different tools and methodologies, and to learn from the people who master them. Along the way, I’ve developed a wide set of skills: concepts, ideas, ways of working, and of course specific tools.

**I’m also currently exploring some very interesting tools in my spare time: Penpot, FigMayo, and Supernova**

Make it a win-win

If you’re looking for someone who will question, challenge, and push your product further, someone with an eye for detail, truly empathetic, focused on teamwork and building processes, slightly obsessed with grids and consistency but also capable of letting go when creativity calls, then we’ll get along. I have a strong product and Design System background, basic understanding of AI tools, experience working with development teams and different stakeholders, and I’m comfortable working on mobile, web (responsive/adaptive) products. I’m fluent in French (native) and English (B2/C1), which helps me communicate and collaborate in international teams.

As for me, I’m looking for a place where I can bring my expertise, of course, but also grow and learn from people with diverse profiles, while continuing to strengthen my design, technical, and analytical skills.

I’d be happy to exchange with you in French, my native language, or in English — maybe even a bit of Frenglish if we get along well.
